Only a few books
touch me at a variety of levels: intellectual,
emotional, spiritual, and the heart. Here’s one I
enthusiastically recommend: Norman Bouchard’s
29 Questions for the Ordinary Life. Reading
this book, I was equally entertained, inspired and
challenged. I laughed, sighed, wiped away tears,
and then rededicated myself to exploring life
beyond all my pat answers. This powerful
collection of essays teaches us that a question
can open up universes of possibilities. Really
great questions can transform our lives—if we have
the courage to keep asking and engaging them. Read
this book, and then share it with family and
friends! Join the growing tide of realization that
it is our questions—even more than our
answers—that will set us free.

As you can
imagine, tax professionals are individuals who
deal in facts and figures and seldom are receptive
to presentations…at all levels, Mr. Bouchard
performed splendidly, captivating the interest of
all in attendance… the conversations the next
morning was those who missed his presentation
missed the highlight of the conference.”

Norm’s
presentation was characterized by quality,
compassion and humor as well as music and
multimedia. He is a natural entertainer …
effectively weaving personal anecdotes and
experience with research and statistics to impress
upon his listeners … delightful delivery
addressing some very difficult and challenging
aspects … I was so impressed we invited him to
give the keynote address.”

It was truly such
a pleasure to meet you this weekend and have the
opportunity to hear you speak. I know our entire
office was moved by your presentation and we all
felt very fortunate to have you there. You are
without a doubt blessed with a tremendous gift. I
started your book, and it is amazing how many
truths you speak. Please keep me posted about when
you will be on Oprah and when you will be in

“I wanted to tell you again what a pleasure it was
to sit under you for the CSA class and what a
phenomenal speaker you are. In our Monday morning

I know that you
like me are always looking for great speakers and
workshop presenters. I would encourage you to
include in your possibilities a friend of mine
that has proven to be fabulous. His name is Norm
Bouchard. As a former priest Norm is deeply
spiritual. I could easily have become Catholic if
he had been the neighborhood priest during my
years of searching because he has always been a
teacher of SOM and Spirit even in his role as a
priest. Norm is an accomplished speaker and
teacher. He has a style of presenting that is
appreciated for his humor and thought-inspiring
message."

"We had a
fantastic weekend in Prescott. Norm was his
awesome self. As usual he was inspiring and got us
all thinking on how we can be the best and not
settle for anything less. The best keeps getting
better. We hope that he enjoyed himself and will
join us again in future. Norm did a wonderful job
and got us all thinking on how fortunate we are to
be in the Caregiving Industry. He is wonderful
person who promotes self worth and realizing your
own personal strengths."

29 Questions for the Ordinary Life

Every so often a book comes along that absolutely should
not be missed. This is one of those books. “29
Questions” came about when Norman Bouchard had a
reoccurring dream that he was standing before a council
of men and women and the leader of the group told him
that he must answer 29 questions. The council never told
him what the 29 questions were so he thought of ten
questions himself and then asked his friends and
colleagues what were the 3 most important questions that
they should be asking in life. From that emerged the 29
questions that are in the book.
As an international speaker, advisor to Fortune 500
companies, and a bachelor’s degree holder in philosophy
and a master’s in divinity, along with many other
accomplishments, the author is definitely qualified to
write a book of this caliber. He uses stories to
illustrate his point and talks a lot about the wonderful
women in his life that gave him wisdom that helped build
his character.
“29 Questions” is broken down into three sections: Life,
Personal Growth and Spirituality
Questions. These included chapters like: Donald Trump,
Mother Theresa and Gumby: whom do I need to be in order
to be happy?, I’ve run out of cheeks: Why is it so hard
to forgive? And Colgate, Polygrip or Crest: Is your
brand of God always right? I especially loved the
chapter on online dating: What do I want my relationship
to be with God, Source, Universe or a Greater Power? His
answer included an ad that says “Professional male, age
50, 5’11, with a big heart and a longing for the Divine.
I can express well, speak well, cook well, and love
others. Sometimes I can be weak, irritable, and even say
the wrong things, but at the core I am wonderfully made.
I am seeking God (age and size doesn’t matter), who is
loving, non-judgmental, open, wants my best, gives me
everything that I need to be successful, and is all
about love!” (page 126)
“This book is definitely one of those gems that you
won’t want to miss. Each year I choose a book to give
out to the people that are closest to me in my life.
Last year I gave out 20 copies of “The Shack” and this
year it will definitely be “29 Questions for the
Ordinary Life.” as reviewed by Cherie Fisher for Reader
